Update..

Hey guys...

So I haven't wrote anything for a while... my bad! Well since my last blog things have gone pretty well. I had a great Christmas with my family and New Year with my friends. It was a pretty busy time with family but also catching up with friends before everyone moves on to go to uni, work etc.

I raced a local race which my club (Riviera Tri Club) organise on the 3rd of January in Marlo, which is the most beautiful place!! It is just over an hour from where I live and is a holiday town. Anyway it was a great fun and so well organised. I was first female and 4th overall... and my little brother won so I was happy for him. I went there with a couple of my friends , Caitlin and Georgina and we stayed the night and just relaxed which was fun.

A week later I raced a Gatorade Olympic Distance in Sandringham where i raced elite. Unfortunately it was draft legal which I hate as the whole time i was thinking... do i break away or don't I? Anyway I didnt do a break away on the bike which I regretted afterwards. I still finished 3rd elite female though.

The next weekend I had another local race, this time in Eagle Point which is about 20 minutes from where I live. Again, this is a really pretty place and a great race! I finished 1st female and 5th overall.

Then I was back in Canberra the weekend after that.... for an Australian Challenge Series race, which is a qualifier for world olympic dist champs. I was racing in the 16 -19 age group and I had what I think was a pretty good race where I finished in 2 hours 9 mins.... unfortunately there was an incredible amount of illegal drafting going on which spoiled the race completely and far too many people got an advantage. It is pretty clear to see who drafted by looking at the combined swim & cycle times. I finished 2nd.

Then this weekend I finally had a weekend off racing! So I managed to get some really hard training in... and I am so incredibly sore!!!! I had a few really hard cycles and runs but hopefully it'll be worth it... my legs have been shaking & cramping up for the past few days!!!

So the count down is on for my first official pro race - Geelong 70.3 which is this weekend!! I can't wait. It is going to be amazing... 21 confirmed pro female starters!! and so many great athletes.... yvonne van vlerken, rebekah keat, kate major, sam warriner... the list goes on! These are people I have looked up to for years... I can't wait to stand on the startline with them!

Anyway I will update before my race..... I have some major stretching to do...!

Thanks for reading,

Char
